I have a file /media/New\ Volume/ipod that contains 19124 mp3 files.

Banshee is pointing at it but only has a library of 18853.

Banshee is synced with my ipod but only contains 11571 songs.

I`ve tried deleting everything off the ipod and resyncing, reinstalling banshee, and doing both together - same result.

There are no artwork files in there.

They should all fit on my ipod.

I can understand having a few dodgy files but a discrepency of nearly 8000 is a bit much.

Anyone know what`s up?
Thanks

My best guess is that the files are an unsupported format, or are DRM encumbered. If you are sure this is not the case, find a few of the files that are not showing up and try them in different media players, or check to make sure they are of a supported format.
As for the artwork, AFAIK banshee does *not* embed the artwork into the files, they are stored in a folder somewhere.

I reckon the 250 files that are in the folder but not in the banshee library are probably unsupported or drm.
But there are 7282 tracks in the banshee library that aren`t synced with my ipod for some reason. I haven`t found one yet that wont play with banshee, mplayer, rhythmbox etc etc.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

99% of the tunes are flac files converted to mp3 for the purposes of putting on the ipod. Should be no unsupported codecs/drm issues.

The strange thing is, I can add the missing tunes to the ipod with gtkpod.????
I`m confused.
Anyone know why Banshee wont sync my entire collection?
