OK - Here's where I am.

Just finished combined backend/frontend system:

Athlon X2 5000
Crappy Gigabyte AM2 motherboard with ATI on-board Graphics
Geforce 7200 PCI-E for TV-Out
2GB Ram
250 GB Maxtor Diamondmax SATA II
Hardy + Mythtv, (as opposed to Mythbuntu)

After finally figuring out the best order to install the PCI devices so that MythTV would detect the tuner cards, and still allow me to use the Nvidia graphics, I've got the system running apparently stable. Although it's only been up for two days at the moment:)

Next is a Mini-ITX - based frontend.

I'm planning to run a diskless system booting from CF/IDE, as netboot looks a little scary for a newbie like me.

I would like to ability to decode HD content, but I've read that the MPEG2 hardware decoding isn't very well supported on the EPIA motherboards. Does anyone have experience of EPIA + HDTV, and could make a recommendation of what board to buy?

TIA,

Simon
