I have just installed 64 bit Ubuntu on a new machine I have set up (on a clean disk).
I ran Firefox on some sites I used to vist on Windows. One of these needed flash so I took the Gnash option which works fine on that site. I have now, though gone to the BBC news site, which I use a lot, and this gave an error along the lines of "wrong Flash" and I ended up at the Adobe site. Trying to download this I got message that the installer was not 64 bit. On this forum I found out how to install the Flash on the sticky thread and did this. It seemed to install OK.
Back on the BBC site now I only get a black display (no message now) and right clicking it gives the "Quit Gnash" option. Selecting this it goes grey. I cannot now seem to find how to stop it using Gnash and start using Adobe (I have tried >Preferences on Firefox).
Can anyone give me a clue?
Thanks, Steve, England.
