will i be able to dual boot these Operating systems?

I am quite pleased with the current Ubuntu 8.04 installation, but want to know if its ok to dual boot with the Studio variant?

Yes - I did it for a while. I wouldn't share /home if you have one - swap is ok though.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Why wouldn't you share a /home directory? I'd say it would be pretty practical.

Just in case - last time I did I had a few problems so haven't done it since - one reinstall too many :) at the time :) , although that said it was a different os. I guess if the versions of buntu are the same it should be ok but personally I wouldn't take the chance again.

I wasnt intending to install another OS on it really, just wanted to know if it would, cheers for the info, and you both have been duely thanked for the info

You could just install it from within ubuntu and then pick which you want to run from sessions at the login screen - but I believe the studio version uses the -rt kernel and would change the kernel for your ubunt as well.
