View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Installing emerald themes

Ok, I have downloaded a few emerald themes that I wanted to try out, but they appear as compressed files, but without an extension. (I downloaded them from here http://themes.beryl-project.org/.) I am used to the drag and drop installing of themes for compiz, but that isn't working for me for the emerald theme manager. How do I install these themes?

System > Preferences > Appearance. Click the theme tab, click install, select the files, play.
Edit: Also, you may want to install art manager. It can download and install themes for you.

I tried that. They don't show up in there, and if I drag and drop, it tells me its not a valid theme.

Ok, i figured it out. I added .emerald to the end of the file and then was able to import through the emerald themer.
