No internet very frustrating

I'm running a compaq laptop with ubuntu hardy I have been running it fine for a while. today I brought my laptop to class used the internet fine in school, brought it home, and it has been unable to connect to wireless or wired connection, absolutely no settings have been changed since it was last able to connect, Its not on the router side since i did a hard reset on the router and all other computers in the house work fine, i've tried reseting all my internet settings back to default and nothing seems to work.. I am going crazy and about to pull out my hair, please help

edit: disregard, conflict with vmnet interfaces, had to reconfigure vmware
