You can enable the VNC server, which is somewhere in System>Administration. Then use TightVNC (http://www.tightvnc.com/) to connect to it from Windows.

You dont necessarily have to use TightVNC, you can use any VNC client you like. I myself use RealVNC.

Okay, i got that to work. BUT now what happens if I'm not already logged in on the desktop? It doesn't seem to want to connect when there isn't a user already connected.

which one of the various methods above are you using. I use terminal server client all the time when I am not already logged in and it works perfectly.

I'm trying to log into Ubuntu from Windows not the other way around.

I downloaded the TightVNC that was suggested earlier in the topic.
