Hi,

I'm having a strange problem with my favorite movie player on hardy: smplayer. When I open a xvid from nautilus and it opens in smplayer automatically, I get no video but audio is ok. But when I first open smplayer from the gnome menu and then I drag my video in it, then it plays fine...

Thanks

Mmm, do you have Compiz enabled?

Have you tried to select another the video driver in Preferences->General?

Compiz is enabled. Disabling it "solves" the problem. But I really don't want to stop using compiz nor do I want to stop using smplayer :p
I have tried the X11 and the XV driver, both give me the same problem.

I've got before a report about a similar (maybe the same?) problem. There's a workaround but it requires to recompile smplayer:

I know this is a stale thread, but thanks for all your hard work.
smplayer is definitely my favorite video player.
