View Full Version : Ignore List Doesn't Actually Ignore User

There's a user who I feel puts absolutely no effort into researching or solving his own "problems" before adding to the noise of this forum. It detracts from my ability to help people with legitimate problems. I've added this user to my ignore list in the hopes of improving the signal/noise ratio of the forums, but to my dismay his childish threads remain visible to me. When I click on the topic, I see this message at the top:
This message is hidden because eyebrowman92 (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=49451) is on your ignore list.
Sadly, the thread isn't actually hidden from me at all. How do I really remove this eyesight from the forums?

Ok.... let me look into this - I'm not sure why it isn't working for you.

Just to clarify: the user's posts are "hidden", but his threads still appear on the thread list.

I believe that's the *point* of an Ignore List, at least from the forums I've been on. It's supposed to hide the posts of the ignored user, but not threads said user has created. It may be a technical reason that it doesn't hide a person's threads, so i think you'd have to ask the vBulletin developers why they don't do that.
