I built mozilla lightning (calendar) 0.8 for Linux PPC this afternoon - it's here: http://markferry.net/Tech/LightningForLinuxPPC
Some caveats apply: this isn't an official build, and it's hosted on my personal site - so I can't guarantee it won't eat your data or kill your dog.
But if you're OK with that, it works in Gutsy PPC, is newer than the 0.5 in the repos and successfully does bi-directional syncing between Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 and Google Calendar.
I dunno, maybe someone knows if I can get this into Mozilla contrib?
