Hello,

I've completely switched to Linux now and the only thing that keeps bugging me (and has been for a few months) is the Nvidia driver for my 8800GTS video card.

I have my LCD TV connected (via HDMI) to the card's second DVI output and from what I've managed to find on forums, there's no fix for the overscan on that particular card series. There is a separate fix aside from the driver, but only for Windows XP.

Please recommend a card that works well under Linux and can deal with overscan DVI->HDMI. If possible around the same generation/capabilities just to keep the price similar, but at this point I'd consider anything.

My TV is a 32" Sony Bravia, 1080i, and I haven't been able to find any options in the TV menus to fix the issue either.

ATI drivers have an overscan option and the 3800 or 4800 series is equivalent to the nvidia 8800. You might want to do a search to make sure that someone has tried them with your tv which is a very common model.
