Hi!

Hope you can help me with this. I got a new 80Gb classic ipod (the last model) and when I'm transferring music via GTKPOD or Banshee the music is saved as "Other" on the ipod and can't be found under music.

When I connect the ipod to the computer again I can play my songs directly in GTKPOD or Banshee without problem but I wish to be able to play them directly from the ipod aswell.

And I also have trouble deleting the files, I had to go via the mounted image and delete the files and folders in the music folder.

And do you perhaps know why Rythmbox skips several songs in the transfer? After transferring about 4400 songs 10-20 of them didn't transfer.

Doesn't anyone have an idea? I'm heading on for a vacation and really wants go get this working before that.

Am I doing it wrong? I have my ipod connected, start gtkpod, add my music files and then drag-and-drop them to "MyIpod" in the program.

Wow! I can now say that I'm a happy user of Floooola! This program is great! As you said I had some problem to get it to work (the music once got stored as other) but the recovery fixed it.

It's so great that you can have the program right on you Ipod.

It's great how it handles album arts, playlists, lyrics, editing, videos and even can add videos directly from Youtube and Myspace!!!

This tutorial video was great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDMU7eHF4Ew

Amarok also works great with ipods. Does album art retrieval as well. I know it's a KDE app, but the dependencies will be automatically downloaded, and it won't mess with your Gnome setup at all.

The only thing I don't like about Floola (ok, besides it being a bear to setup in 64-bit) is being able to easily save an ipod playlist to your local machine as a backup. At least I haven't figured out how quite yet :)
