Will Ubuntu run on a computer with an AMD processor? Or do they only work on Intel? I am thinking about buying a laptop and I want to make sure I'll be able to run Ubuntu because it's AWESOME!!!!

Yes, Ubuntu works fine on an AMD processor (AFAIK, most of AMD is technically 'intel architecture' anyways).

Ubuntu runs fine on my Toshiba laptop with an AMD dual core processor. In fact it runs faster with Ubuntu than with Vista. I have a dual boot setup that runs both.

unfortunately on my amd Turion ML37 processor ubuntu doesn't work properly causing overheating on high processor usage. And i can't enable ACPI cause system hangs on booting. I'm using Asus A6KM-Q097 laptop, someone else have similar issue with this processor?
Regards.

In theory there are no problems.
It does not matter if AMD or Intel, because the processor architekture is by both X86 but a problem is sometimes ACPI.

Works ok everytime, it doesn't matter if you're using AMD or Intel, inspite of those "little" problems with ACPI.
