Uh, the "Undo" button would be the little backward-arrow next to the "Save" button at the very top of your screen...
I've personally had no qualms with Office 2007. I hope the rest of your experience with it goes well. :)

Ah well...
But you don't really actually have to use Word, you know.
Might i suggest OOo?

open office is pretty good and it's free. Does pretty much all the same things that m$ does. Give it a try. My only complaint is that I haven't figured out how to get it to stop trying to complete words for me. (I'm sure that I will solve that soon, though.)

Ctrl-Z is Undo on almost all Windows applications, unless that changed in Vista too...

davidpeace -
Go to Tools in OpenOffice Writer - then Autocorrect - Word Completion Tab - turn the word completion function off there...
(Drives me nuts whenever I install a fresh OpenOffice & can't remember how to do this... )

In OOo.Writer - Tools > AutoCorrect... > Word Completion.
Un-check "Enable word completion" :)

I personally feel the ribbon much more convenient than the old Office 2003 one

I'm surprised that it didn't work, Ctrl+Z sometimes works in Ubuntu too....
I've had no real need to use MS Office - my previous desktop even came with Open Office's predecessor, "Star Office", preinstalled.

I love Microsoft Office.
The only reason I use OpenOffice is because it's free.
Not saying that OpenOffice is a bad office suite. It is the best non-Microsoft office suite I've ever used. I can still do what I could in MS Office and get what I need to get done done.

I think Office 2007 is the best Office Suite out there, much better then Open Office.org if you ask me.

even though I tend to agree with that I think it's not fair to compare a free office suite with Office which is quite expensive
as a value/money comparison, openoffice wins hands down :)

You may be right for the most part, but I have to say, Office 2007 has some impressive chart-making tools. The graphics involved are much better than OpenOffice.
