Hey everyone, first of all I wanna say that I'm sorry to post this thread. I know there are probably tons of other Wifi threads but Ive searched for awhile and havent seen anything relating to this specific problem (or maybe Im just blind).
I'm running the 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook. I have Ubuntu 8.04 installed on my other partition. Im at the beach right now so I have no means of using wired internet, so I can't apt-get anything but I can download the packages directly from the internet and put them on a flash drive so I can use them offline in Ubuntu (which is what I have been doing).
First, I tried ndiswrapper and I couldn't find the download for the appropriate driver. I read the Ubuntu Macbook guide and tried the Lenovo driver, and also tried to download the Atheros 5800 driver but neither worked.
I think the way to go for me is the Mad Wifi driver, but I'm not having any luck. I downloaded the driver and madwifi-tools and installed them both, and followed all directions in the Macbook guide to Wireless.
My Network Manager does not display any type of Wireless connection, only Wired. When I tried to create the ath0 interface it says that a device does not exist (can't remember which device now... I would know it if I read it).
Any help? If someone has a quick guide and download links for the ndiswrapper it would be much appreciated because that would be the easiest way I suppose but I already have madwifi installed, it just wont create the interface.
Thanks!
