Hi all, having laughed out loud at the 'how can I make my Ubuntu more like Windows thread, where the guy wants to have a 'blue screen of death' to make him feel more 'at home', I now find myself getting as many 'hangs' in Ubuntu as I used to in Windows.
Could this be a Compiz problem ?
Examples of the problems are:
Mozilla dies..goes grey, I force it to quit. When I try to run it again, nothing happens...just the spinning wheel as it loads, then no program.
This also happens with Pidgin from time to time & also Open Office.
Closing the session & re opening solves the problem.
Also, today, I got a 'grey screen', when I opened a window to play with files on my desktop. I forced it to quit & all my desktop folders have vanished. A 'search' also goes grey & refuses to respond.
I use Ubuntu 8.04 with all the latest updates installed.
