View Full Version : [ubuntu] "SRST failed" error trying to install 8.04.1

I have successfully installed Ubuntu 8.04.1 to my laptop, but when I boot the disc on my desktop and choose "Install Ubuntu" I get the following error and the process stops here. I have a free partition so I'd rather install directly and not try Wubi.

Since it says ata2, I'll let you know that I have 2 sata hard drives and 1 ide hard drive installed.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Appears most often to result from a HDD jumper issue...looka here:
