HI
I have a currently functioning (until I played with it) MythDora MythTV installation using version 4. This is built on Fedora core 6, and Mythtv .20.2.
Previously the PC had a Geforce 4000 variant video card, using SVideo out - it worked, but lots of movement produced the 'comb'ing issue I have seen listed in other threads.

I have just purchased a geforce 6200 card to replace the other card. Unfortunately Fedora doesn't do drivers like Ubuntu...
Issue:
1) seeing as Fedora 6 is old enough to have lost most of the repos for packages and the Nvidia-downloaded drivers require a couple of packages I cannot provide, I figured moving to MythBuntu would be best, as I have two other mythbuntu front-ends.
2) when I set up the mythdora system, I used LVM groups to spam two hard drives into one.
3) I have 250Gb of shows/videos and no where to back them up :. cannot afford to lose them

Desire:
I have done installs and upgrades in the past on Suse and Ubuntu, and imported the FSTAB file to bring in my pre-existing /home directory, and would like to do the same thing with Mythbuntu - install it, importing the LVM for my /storage directory.

Will the previous version of Mythbuntu (7.10? remember - myth .20.2) import the LVM and /storage directory from teh FSTAB in the installation/partitioning sequence, since I will be installing over/replacing the Fedora system? This is a one-shot deal...

I'd rather leave the currently miss-configured X and have a backend-only system, and have another separate front-end, but am trying to save space/power. I _might_ be able to get the nv4000 card to work again as well, but that again, is a step back. I'd rather use mythbuntu for it's driver support and ease of use, but 250Gb of data tells me otherwise, and I don't want to lose it.

Any thoughts?
thanx
