Can't find Jack

Good day every one , i am a musiucian new to ubuntu ( and may be )stupid...FIRST EXCUSE ME IF I AM NOT IN THE GOOD PLACE FOR MY POST , BUT I DID NOT SEE ANY WAY TO START A NEW ONE.Now , my probleme is , i downloaded the pacage Jack , apt-get..etc....But after installation cant find the application???:confused:

This confusion is common, 'jack' also happens to be the name of a command-line cd-ripper.

What you're looking for are the 'jackd' and 'qjackctl' packages. Qjackctl is the GUI for JACK, and should appear in the Sound & Video menu.
