View Full Version : [ubuntu] network wont network w/windoze

i know you have probably answered this before. but here goes as i have been trying to find the answer for weeks.

my network will see the window computers but doesn't have access to them
smbclient seems to work ok though. Nautilis doesn't open any of the other computers. have already followed numerous guides dont know where i am going wrong it doesn't ask for a password so i assume that is the cause but how to make it.

help me ob1 you are my only hope.

in your terminal type nautilus smb://x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the ip of the windows machine..

well thanks that works well however clicking on network from the menu and then clicking on a network computer still is empty. but thanks for a great tip and work around.

Hey if anyone reading this is having the same problem then get "smb4k" this will tie in with a windows network easily. I found it and it fixs my problems.:lolflag:
