Hi all, it has been a while since I have had a question to ask, but I've finally hit a road block.
I have moved and reacquired a television in my bedroom. Now, my desktop PC is across the room from it and well out of cable reach, but my laptop rests very close to it. In the past I have streamed video using VLC from the desktop to the laptop and output it on the tv. However, this does not work well at all for HD videos. My laptop is pretty weak and does not like to decode video very much.
So, I was hoping to find either a way to speed up my laptop so I can enjoy HD video from my computer on my TV, or a way to simply forward my screen through the laptop and into it's secondary output (My TV connected via VGA).
The laptop is an AMD Turion 64x2 with an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100. It's running Hardy Heron with the fglrx drivers. I can connect them both through a router or through a switch using a crossover cable.
Thanks ahead of time!!
