Hello, I have four pc's with more than 1 ghz processing power in each, it occurred to me that I might be able to use them rather than throw them away by slaving them to my current desktop. Google is being quite guarded about information regarding this topic, It seems I would need some sort of network connector and a linux distro, I run ubuntu, What are the benefits of clustering in a home environment (if any) and how difficult would it be setting this up? I thank in advance those more learned than me for sharing information :)

I dont really know of any benefits to cluster in a home environment. It is really nice for CPU intensive tasks like rendering videos or CAD drawings. unless you do things on your computer that involve large CPU loads you probably wont benefit from it. If however you do want to give it a spin take a look at openmosix. I havent used it myself but ive heard good reviews. I would love to use it if I get a chance but at the moment I dont have any need for it.
