I've had a lot of people tell me compiz works perfectly with the radeon x300 with the open source drivers included in ubuntu, but I get all kinds of screen corruption when I try to use it with them, and ubuntu enabled it by default and this is what i get:

Is there any way to fix this? because it runs like crap with ati's proprietary (8.6) driver. and I recall it working fine with ubuntu 7.04 out of the box without all these weird issues.

Hm... I am going to be trying to get a system that compiz-check says Radeon X300 can only support 2048 on X axis on to run compiz. I'll let u know how it goes... I am not very impressed with ATI.
