hey there i only recently got linux, it is linux ubuntu gnome, i installed compiz and compiz fusion and set tmy desktop up with cool effects like the cube but when i started my computer up the next day i realised there was this strange layer behind my windows bars that you can only see through the windows bars here is a picture: http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/2082/screenshotwu4.png does anyone know how to get rid of it?? and no it's not the theme it does it with every theme including the defualt theme. Also i installed the emerald theme manager and to get the themes to work i have to type emerald --replace in the terminal but if i then close that terminal the windows bars dissapear is there a way around this?

many thanks
adam

Goto System->Preferences->Sessions, click Add button and add in emerald --replace as the Command
Close the window and Restart X (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace)

I don't use emerald, but if the border is disapearing, you should disable and re-enable window decoration.
