How do I check what TV Tuner Card I have in my desktop and more important what program do I use to watch and record TV shows?
I have Ubuntu 8.04 installed on my Dell Inspiron 530 PC.
Thank you in advance!

Can't help on the naming of your card part, but mythtv is an amazingly powerful tivo replacement. I'd be willing to help you through the install process, but if your card is gonna work without tweaking, mythtv can fulfill all your tv watching needs.

Also, a quick check to see if your card works is tvtime

sudo apt-get install tvtime

Installed TVTime. Says: "No Signal". Looks like my card is not supported by Ubuntu :(
If I install a different TV Tuner Card, do I need to reinstall Ubuntu?
