Hi,
I am a newbie to Ubuntu and I have a problem with sound. I have spent several hours on it, but still have no solution.
I have freshly installed Ubuntu 8.04 on Asus A3H laptop. Everything works fine, sound from the internal speakers plays well until I plug the external headphones or speakers into the line out. Then there is no sound neither in headphones or in internal speakers. Everything worked well on Windows XP.
My audio device (using lspci | grep -i audio):
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04)
