Can anyone tell me if there is a way to disable the ability to click with the touchpad? I still want to be able to use the touchpad, but I would rather use the buttons to click. Right now, I can tap the touchpad to click. I would like to disable this feature. If possible, I would still like to be able to scroll with the touchpad. I just want to disable the click-by-tap feature.

you can try to install Ksynaptics or Gsynaptics (if your touchpad is made by Synaptics).
I used to have it installed in GG.

Uncheck the tapping box, now it'll only register a click when you click the buttons. My touchpad was too sensitive, a thumb brushing the touchpad would click at random places when I was typing.

You should be able to just turn the click feature off in System>Preferences>Mouse under touchpad.
