Alright guys, I made an avatar transparent that I would like to use, which i have uploaded to the internet...

Exhibit A - http://x11.putfile.com/11/30618053715.png

Yet when I type that URL into the section for my avatar, it for some reason becomes this...

Exhibit B - http://ubuntuforums.org/image.php?u=50549&dateline=1131062772

I noticed that many of you guys have transparent avatars, so does it have to do with the file type, or what?

Thanks in advance!

Heh, not even the same image? Weird.
Just upload the avatar from your computer.

I assume the image size and dimentions are within forum spec?

EDIT: Yeah, resize it to 90x90. Your are 5 pixs over.

It's not really weird... the image resizing functions in GD can't handle PNG transparency. By putting your av within the limits and thus obviating resizing, you escape GD's limitations.

But why not check the guidelines before uploading? ;)
