I'm trying to watch videos at the new BBC Player http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0074gf0
I get a message saying “This doesn't seem to be working. Try again later.” I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 LTS so I know Adobe Flash Player is installed on my hard drive. Does anyone have any idea why the videos won't play? Thankx for any help.

I also get the same results, running firefox + flash 10 and opera with flash 9, maybe these videos only work for UK residents.

They don't say on the site if it's for the UK only. I don't know. I think I'll send the BBC an email.

From the Terms
"3. Downloadable BBC Content is available for download within the UK only."
The BBC carries no advertising. Its only income is from a licence fee on every household in the UK with a TV - about GBP 200 or USD 400 per year.
I have paid for it and can watch it. Non UK residents have not paid for it and thus cannot watch it.
Also, I suspect that if programmes were made available on-line worldwide for free then it would be hard to sell them to foreign networks.
However - the radio output is available worldwide.

I'm in the UK, and it works for me. So it's just a location based block.

Ta for your help NE Key and Dyqik. I was worried it might be that. It's a good job I have BBC America on cable. It's not like the real thing though.
