I know somebody who uses this wireless adapter for a Windows PC, and it has been amazing. This is something that could be very useful to me, as I have an old(er) PC that needs a wireless adapter. Is this device Linux-friendly? If not, where can I find a device that functions similarly that is Linux-friendly?

If there are Windows XP drivers for the device, then I would try ndiswrapper. From what I've seen doing a Google search, people have gotten it to work just plugging it in to 7.04, so I would think it could be made to work with ndiswrapper. It appears it is just a USB wireless device.

Post back if you can't figure out how to do it from the multitude of ndiswrapper posts in this forum and we'll walk you through it so you can try. :)

I have a Hawking HWU8DD USB dish adapter, and I plugged it into Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Without any input from me it was found, appears in the network icon (top right) and lods up any wireless networks. I was able to access BT homehub and BTopenzone plus a couple of unlocked private users without any problems.....
