View Full Version : [ubuntu] Banshee-iPod issue

I promise, I promise, I've searched. For about the past three weeks.

I recently set up Ubuntu 8.04 as a dual-boot (alongside Vista 32-bit) on my Dell laptop, and more or less consider it successful. There are, however, several issues I'm trying to fix or get running at all, one of which is my music situation. I got myself addicted to my iPod years back, and obviously I need to get that running on Linux as well. I don't like rhythmbox's iPod interface, although it works, and Amarok's not to my liking either.

I like Banshee, although it has one major, glaring issue: It won't load my iPod. Rhythmbox was able to play my iPod and playlists with no issues (although it wouldn't let me delete playlists, but thats another rant), so I think it's program-specific. It recognizes the iPod, but will sit there for hours on end, saying it's "loading." It shows all the music on the iPod as "other" content, and can't therefore play any of it. Here's a screenshot:

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Bear in mind I've only been using Linux for about a month now, but I do know my way around a computer.
