When I start my computer and I see the wallpaper I have 2 things that might happen:
1. Gnomes bars in the upper and lower screen don't load up at all.
2. Bars load but they freeze and can't open menu or anything.
2. If bars load it loads stuff untill username and clock and those don't show up. I can see "system" menu and those and link to firefox but clock is hidden and some stuff left to it.
Only thing I can do is open directory from my desktop and start games that work fine and listen to music etc but can't open those menus in the upper right of my system because they are frozen or something.
Seems like gnome doesn't work =(
I can open terminal only with ctrl+alt+f1 and I googleded this:
In Ubuntu and many other distributions you can use this command to restart the GNOME display manager:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
Doing this and after pressing ctrl+alt+f7 to get back makes my screen go black.
Then I must hold alt+printscreen and type REISUB.
I also tried booting in recovery mode and did xserver fix and package fixing thing but they didn't help.
Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?
EDIT: Tried pressing ctrl+alt+backspace. Logging in that way didn't fix but I noticed there is KDE possibility so tried that and it works fine. Gnome has some problems =/
EDIT2: Kde can't open firefox for some reason =/ More: It actually can't launch anything!
