Hi,

Anyway to disable rectangular outlines in Ubuntu (dots that appear when a button has focus for example)?

I hate how when I click buttons that rectangular outlines are always added. Annoys me.

Thanks,

Will

Are you talking about the dotted outline that appears around the text or the button? If so, it is the indicator of which control currently has focus (and will receive events). I'm not sure you can turn it off (the same thing exists in Windows b.t.w.).

Yes that is what I'm talking about and yes I hate it in Windows too. :(

Unfortunately it is considered essential to provide visual feedback on which control has focus - I think you're on a hiding to nothing trying to get that removed.

Sorry, you'll have to live with it I think - most devices have an equivalent of it, including the menu systems on your MP3 player, mobile phone and etc.
