I sorted out how to convert movie files into mp4 so that they can play on an iPod, but I ran into this error while trying to move one to the iPod using gtkpod:

Import of '/home/beth/Videos/Rainbow Brite/1 - The Beginning of Rainbowland Part 1.mp4' failed: m4a/m4p/m4b not supported without the mp4v2 library. You must compile the gtkpod source together with the mp4v2 library.
The following track could not be processed (filetype is known but analysis failed): '/home/beth/Videos/Rainbow Brite/1 - The Beginning of Rainbowland Part 1.mp4'

Yes, Rainbow Brite. See avatar; I'm a girl.

Compiling something from source is hard, isn't it? :-/ What exactly am I supposed to do here?

Hello Beth,
I don't know if you figured this out yet, but I am working on it myself. I am ripping all my music cds with Ryhtymbox because my itunes backup cds are currupt. I have a couple movies converted to ipod format and need to get them on my ipod. I used dvd::rip and winff to rip & convert. Gtkpod doesn't have a video section, and I came across your thread. No one answered you, but it gave me an idea I need gtkpod compiled properly. I need a little guidance though. What did you come up with? I am using Intrepid. And yes ...you are a girl, and thats great.

Thanks
