View Full Version : [ubuntu] Need some girly themes for my girlfriend's laptop!

I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my girlfriend's laptop. I want to customize it with some girly themes. I've been looking around at gnome-look and didn't really find much worth using. I wanted to see if any of the users here have done any girly type customizations for Ubuntu.

go to http://gnome-look.org and search for pink? purple? that should work :P

I did it in 7mins changed my whole system.

Yeah I tried that one. She didn't like the Mac OS style of the theme. Girly just seems very limited lol.

Here try this. Very simple, just take whatever theme she likes in Preferences>Appearance then click Customize then Colors. This is what I came up with for my girlfriend.

I have the Clearlooks theme with color #FFCAF2 for Windows-Background and #ED829C9 for Selected items-Background

The colors may be backward. If it looks off switch them.

Some themes do not let you customize the colors, especially those that are downloaded from the Gnome webpage. There is probably a workaround or something. I have no idea however. Later ya'll.
