Using Microphone in CS 1.6 Multiplayer Game????

i want to use my mic in online gameplay of cs 1.6.
when i plug it in an talk i can hear it in the speakers.
how do i set it up so other ppl could hear me?
during gameplay i press k and talk but nothing seems to go through. :confused:

well ask people by typing just ask them if they can hear u if they cant then uhh try installing some programs from the Add/Remove Applications for microphone, and just to make sure try changing the talk control from "k" to like uhh idk something like "L" doesnt matter, well for my cs.CZ, and Source works fine, i played 1.6 a little bit and it worked fine also

yes i keep asking ppl if they could hear me but, .....nothing.
and there is supposed to be a lil thing that appears when i talk, and it doesnt.
when i go to mic test in Options>Voice, it doest show anything on the bar.
there is no progs in add/remove that have to do with microphone.
and i did try to change the button to an other one. but no success to get it to work. :(
