Unable to Run Winetools

i loaded wine hq-1 and winetools. when i run wt2 in the terminal(not root). it gives me these messages - no suitable Wine directory found...

Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C

i am unable to make any changes in the base setup etc..
what do i do?

and then appears dialog window where is write about incompatilble version..

uninstall wine
Download wine 0.9.20 .deb from the winehq package list
install it, then install winetools.
execute winecfg, set default winver to windows 98, exit.
then execute winetools.
