looks pretty one thing I would suggest would be to possibly also specialise in one area as I'm a member of the kubuntu and ubuntu forums.

Well we will be about getting people to try Ubuntu, with main Focus on Ubuntu itself. Kubuntu will be offered as an option (as will xUbuntu) but to upgrade only. I myself have all three versions.

sounds good I'd recommend using live cd to tempt people -sort of no commitment to change, while allowing the display of the possibilities

I have set up a teams wiki page and I have applied to use the domain Ubuntu-ie.org as well as requested a bot to log our channel #Ubuntu-IE, and requested a mailing list. BTW, If you are interested in this project post in here, we need as much support as possible, even if your not from Ireland!

Count me in, I live in the north west but travel to Dublin, Laois and Kildare regularly. Will help out as much as I can. Have been using Ubuntu since 5.04 and Linux since 1995. Jack of all trades, master of none. :D

Guys, we need to set up the Irish Loco Team. This is a MUST. There is no Active Loco team for Ireland at this moment in time.

Yeah, every country (or county :D) should have a team.

I'm also a user a ubuntu-de and they did a very good work with their page.

The WIKI on ubuntu-ie.org is a joke...

So what about if all interested (irish) people join this newsgroup:
http://groups.google.ie/group/ubuntu-ie

Is there any IRC or Jabber MUC Chat for Ubuntu-IE?

It's a pity that Ekiga doesn't support any kind of Grouptalk (i.e. SIP doesn't)

I'm a network admin in Galway, happy to help in any way I can.

Currently running a couple of Ubuntu boxes as well as a bit of Gentoo, SuSE, CentOS, BSD (and some Windows ;))
