you can easely manage that by yourself
There is plenty cursor thems around (gnome or kde art)
you just have to put them in an ~/.icons folder and then reboot Xserver then it works as simply as that

Hi Mrt. This page show you how to install a default cursor theme: http://www.kde-look.org/help/index.php?type=36

You can get cursor themes here: http://www.gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=36

edit: drat, beaten to it

I have some cursors that I want to use but I'm a bit confused as to where I would put them... Is there already a cursors folder?

There is a neat trick in windows where you can set the cursor to change to what ever colour is the opposite of what is under it..

so if I move the mouse over a whit patch the mouse goes black etc.. is there a way to do that in Gnome?

Theres a little program in the universe repository called gcursor. So you dont have to go around messing with hidden folders. Also shows a preview of the cursor. You can only add .tar cursor themes with it I think. Whatever file-roller's defualt compression method is.
