Audio Device in use or "could not open"

Help!,



Just yesterday I was able to open and playback my music... Today, none of my music playback software like Amarok, the default player, or VLC) will allow me to play my music. Amorok tells me that the audio device is in use by another app. I've been trying to figure out what else could be using it, but I can't find anything that could possibly be utilizing it (have tried doing it with all programs shut off). Is this a bug? If so is there a way to fix it? I'm pretty new to Linux, so step by step instructions would be really awesome.

I have the same problem. I notice that I can't streaming online or play audio cd from cdrom drive at the same time. I can play one or the other. If I have the audio cd playing then my streaming video has no sound. Or if I am playing the streaming video first, I can't access audio cd from cdrom.
