View Full Version : [ubuntu] video buggy when grabbed from firewire

I have a panasonic nv-gs320 which connects via firwire, and I grab the video from it using kino, which I edit in MainActor.
The process works fine, but when I grab video from kino, I often get what seem to be 'scan lines' on the video whenever motion occurs.

I've managed to reduce their promenance by grabbing the video's 'lower channels only' (one of the options in kino for grabbing) and then only processing the lower channel in mainactor. HOwever they are still visible.

This isn't a software issue, since I grabbed the same video under windows and got the same results.

Does anybody have any ideas why this might happen? I did wonder whether or not it's down to the camera or the grabbing software or the firewire connection, but I'm not sure...

Thanks for any help/insight in advance
