View Full Version : [ubuntu] Bluetooth

I'm trying to send a folder via Bluetooth from the desktop to a
Dell Axim X51 running Windows Mobile 5. I can send the folder, but
only in a compressed format that the PDA can't open. It will only send
it in a .zip or .tar format. It will send individual files without
compressing them and they work fine. The folder only contains .rtf files.
When I right click on the folder and select Send To it opens a
dialog box and there is a button that says Send Packaged In. This is
under a heading called Compression, but the button is grayed out and
won't work. I've tried opening this send program with sudo and every
combination I can think of but am having no luck. I'm guessing I have
to be root to do this but can't figure it out.

First off there is no way to send a folder via bluetooth or email. You need to send it as a compressed folder. Otherwise you will need to send each item seperatly.
Try opening the folder selecting each file (Ctrl+A) and the right clicking and using Send to that way. Each file will go over in a batch.

If compression doesn't work, you can rather select all files within the folder and select Send To.. This would send all the files, but would prompt for "Accept files from..." only once..
