I have my eye on it but the price is a little steep. ;)

I'm trying to get my money back from it. I paid about 110 for the laptop and about 20 for the Ram so I figured 130 would be a good base. I'm not too familiar with Macs but I guess the Airport card really drives up the price.

Thanks for looking!

I have a later model iBook (the dual USB model) and I got it for $30.

People consistantly overestimate the value of used/old computers and Mac users seem to have it the worst.

That computer isn't worth near that much. (My blog has my iBook's specs).

I would estimate that iBook is worth <$50.

Searching Ibook Clamshell, sorted by Best Match, and taking all the laptops on the first page, I got an average of 128.44. Just approximated.

Searching for just Ibook Clamshell Blueberrys, I came up with 78.26.

The airport card [25.17 from ebay searching too] and the extra RAM [19.99] make it to be ...wow...125 dollars. I'll make little profit, if any. I believe it to be a fair price.

Laroza thanks for the valuable, constructive input. :\

Like I said, people overestimate the price of used computers.

Yes, you paid for that, and you feel like you should get a profit. That RAM is overpriced and the amount of RAM is quite low (mine has 768 MB). The processor is very slow as well. The low amoung of ram and slow processor limit the usefulness of this computer. It may be "fair" if values were static. They are not.

It is the truth. The average person with no knowledge of computers will possibly not recognize the value as such, but the value of computers decreases rapidly. To those who have the slightest idea, that iBook is is very overpriced. I know, it isn't "fair" to you, but that is the way it is.

I'm well aware of the deprecation of computers. If I were to put together a similar computer now, I would understand that such a price would be ridiculous.

My point was, there exists a market for which older apple products would be a collectors item. People who are looking to buy these types of products aren't buying them to play Crysis on High with 60 fps. They are buying it because it is an Apple Ibook Clamshell. Just like people buy Coke bottles from the 30s or a 57 Chevy.

That was just an insult. Why is a mod trolling this thread? I'm aware that the amount of Ram is low. I also would have trouble finding RAM that would be compatible with the laptop. Congratulations on your 768. I'm fresh out of cookies however. I'm also aware of the limitations of the processor. I'm fairly familiar with that. Thanks for patronization.

Ok, that is valid, and I hope you make a profit on it.

I didn't mean to insult you, I was talking about the buyer, not the seller. I was mainly saying it was a little high because you had no offers and I would have been interested (but not as a collector, as a user)

I would really like to have it to try out and learn more but I have a G3 desktop and with my current situation I do not think I can help but good luck.
