or the same as in the installer so that you still need the dvd?
Don't think there is one, the installer works fine

I already have the (win) DVD, I'd like just have a deb package instead id-software installer ;)

No, and Id Software forbids repacking into a .dep, .rpm or .whatever as you need to read, and agree to the EULA on install.

The Linux installer works just fine, provided that you own a copy of the disc.

Speaking of Doom 3 linux installer where can I find that? All I can find is the 1.3 linux patch.

nvm...Seems the doom3 patch instructions are actually fresh install instructions...

Here I was thinking that a patch was suppose to update something that already existed. Silly me.
