View Full Version : Problem running home-brew Win apps under WINE

As far as I can tell, I have a problem (or two) with WINE. I have version 1.1.0. It takes roughly 30 seconds (yes, I timed it) to start any program - even the Wine Configuration window takes a really long time.

Also, in one of my home-brew Windows apps (way too long to rewrite, but performance is good) has problems when I try to start a terminal-based program in that nothing gets displayed. I have a few I need to start, and only a select two work.

And another question. What is the significance of 127.12.34.56? When I do an IP address check from my program, it reports 127.12.34.56 instead of 192.1.1.103, which ifconfig reports.

Any thoughts or comments or ideas or answers would be greatly appreciated. Please keep your replies relatively simple, as I am somewhat new to linux.

Thanks,

Try running from the terminal, see if there are any errors that are consistent across programs.
