View Full Version : [kubuntu] Sound on an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe

I recently purchased an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe to replace a damaged Asus M2N-E motherboard. The old M2N-E was working (sound) just fine, and seems to be the same hardware on the new M2N32 but things have not worked out for me.

I have followed the instructions on the Comprehensive Sound Problem Solutions Guide v0.5e. Well written by the way!

But the sound still does not work in my kubuntu system. I know the board and wiring works when I boot Windoze 2000.

Any thoughts? I also tried the ALSA driver compilation, no errors, but the ADI 1988B driver did not show up in the list, and so I am still nowhere.

Also....
cat /proc/asound/modules

generates the following: 0 snd_hda_intel

Not sure where or why that snd_hda_intel comes from or how to replace that.
