I have WoW (with expansion) installed under WINE. Works really well, except that whenever I try to do anything that involves me holding down shift and clicking the mouse button, it doesn't register me pushing shift. But if I use shift while typing, to the capital letters, it still works. Can't socket gems, can't get user info from the chat UI, can't even link items.

Ubuntu 8.04
2GB RAM
3 Button wheel mouse
640 GB Nvidia 8800GTS
PC

The instructions on this page should do it for you.

Unless I'm missing something blatantly obvious, that's the WINE install page.

I already have WINE installed, and it was recently, so I think it would be the latest version.

I had the same issue as you, and my wine-install is just a few days old. The page i linked contains info on how to get the wine repositories which were not part of Hardy Heron.

The mouse problem is supposedly a bug, and updating wine with the new repositories should get rid of it.
