After about three solid days of googling, I cant seem to find any media servers that work with my PS3. I have tried 3 so far:

gmediaserver- music comes up as unsupported data and videos dont show up at all (using the ps3 profile)

ushare- both music and videos come up as unsupported data

fuppes- the ps3 cant find it at all

please help!

P.S im quite new at this, so simple answers would be gr8! :)

You might need to install the GSTREAMER codecs. They are available from the "Add/Remove programs" menu

Have you tried mediatomb or gnump3d? Both are available in the repositories and can be installed using Add/Remove Programs or Synaptic Package Manager.

@Vorhees1979- I'm sorry I was just lookin forward to playing uncharted and ff13 and watching blu-ray movies, I completely forgot that I could buy a console that breaks every month and can only play hi-def on hd-dvds, which are now dead. Back to the subject plz :p

@cariboo907- mediatomb works! thanks for a helpful comment
