Has anyone found a way to copy saved movies from a Dish Network external drive to Ubuntu and then copy them to DVD from Ubuntu or to Windows for burning them to a DVD?

I know Dish Network uses some form of Linux and the files are strange to Windows but then they are strange to Ubuntu as well.

Any help on what to do would be appreciated.

What exactly are you referring to with: "Dish Network"?

I do happen to have two sat connections and one DreamBox from which I can FTP movies onto one of my Ubuntu HD's (burning is easy).

Dish Network as in satallite tv, more over the 622 dvr reciever to which I have a 1T external hard drive attached to via USB for storage of the saved movies I would like to copy them to a DVD.
Ubuntu sees the drive and the files but I can't figure out how to open them in Ubuntu or windows.
Have tried PVR Explorer and DishRip in windows but no success. Just wondered how to do it from Ubuntu.

Getting to the files is one thing, with help of that Ethernet connector on the back, but the files are encrypted! Please have a look here:
