i am using an acer aspire 5315 laptop with 2gb of ram and an in tel x3100-gm965/gl960 graphics chipset it says on the laptop that it has
up to 252 mb,how can i tell how much memory it has?(on linux)
this laptop was originally designed for vista.is there a command to see or do i have to get into the bios??

Yes, you normally set the shared graphics memory from the computer's BIOS. Generally speaking you'll never need to change the setting from the factory default. The Intel GM965 chipset isn't a graphics powerhouse :)
